We are currently aiming to recruit a new Portfolio Analyst for our team in Olten, Switzerland. This is a great opportunity for somebody who enjoys the complexity of energy trading as well as the mix of analytical work and stakeholder management. The role requires a certain level of seniority and is ideal for somebody with previous experience in energy commodity trading, ideally gas. The role reports to Alpiq’s Head Middle Office Trading. 

 

Main responsibilities

  • Consulting and supporting front units with focus on gas portfolios 
  • Preparing and validating PnL, position reporting to management and front units
  • Additional data management and analysis in case of discrepancies 
  • Monitoring portfolio structures and its processes behind 
  • Daily check of Internal Market Assessments (IMA)
  • Participation in other internal or external projects
  • Generating and creating all types of reports related to PnL and positions, mainly based on PowerBi

 

Your profile 

  • University degree or equivalent (business, engineering, mathematics, etc.)
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the energy commodity trading industry with a focus on gas
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, enjoys working with numbers and systems, coding skills a plus (Python, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Good problem-solving skills, curiosity and pragmatism
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder mgt skills, fluent English required
